eyepin Tri-Team: Top-Athlete Weixlbaumer qualified for the Ironman-World Championship in Hawaii

Last weekend Günter Weixlbaumer, one of the top athletes in the eyepin Triathlon-Team achieved a brilliant 23rd place in the Group M-35 at the Ironman European Champonship Frankfurt.

Weixlbaumer finished with a total time of 9:26, which means he beat his personal record by one hour.

As an average swimmer he finished the 3,8km in 1h 08min, only to exceed all expectations when he managed to cycle the 180km in only 4h 50 min and make up 694 ranks to catapult himself to the 211th position in the total ranking.

Although he experienced difficulties in the last section, he ran the 42km better than many of his competitors and finished the competition at 111th position in the total ranking.

With this great result Günter Weixlbaumer qualified as one of the eyepin Triathlon-Team’s top athletes for the Ironman-World Championship in Kona, Hawaii.

We congratulate Günter, wish him a successful lead-time and are awaiting the 13th of October, Kona, Hawaii.
